Sappyfest is excited to announce that Lee Ranaldo of Sonic Youth is joining the lineup!
Musician, visual artist, and writer, Lee Ranaldo co-founded Sonic Youth in 1981 and has been active in New York’s downtown community and internationally since then as composer, performer and producer, also exhibiting visual art and publishing several books of journals, poetry and writings on music.
A true pioneer of sound exploration and pushing sonic boundaries with his experimental approach, on Saturday, August 3rd Lee will treat Sappy audiences to an intimate performance, with accompanying visuals by Leah Singer, in the Mount Allison University Chapel—utilizing their massive custom-built Casavant Fréres pipe organ. You won’t want to miss this rare performance!
