Sappy friends! We are grateful to be making plans to reconvene in person this year, to fill our cups with music and friends, and in deep reverence of the gifts that live music and art bring. We’ve been quietly and slowly getting settled, digging, learning, and working away. In some ways, with change as constant as ever, making plans has felt big, scary, and a little hesitant. But as our dear friend and former director Steve Lambke once wrote, “to make a plan is to claim a hope for the future.” It’s that hope and a vision of coming together under summer skies that propels us forward.

And so, with tremendous joy, we take one more step! We are thrilled to share that Ami Dang, Cedric Noel, Circuit des Yeux, Kelly McMichael, OMBIIGIZI and WOLF CASTLE will join us for Sappyfest 2022, our 17th gathering of musicians, artists, dancers, punks, poets, and performers this July 29th-31st in Sackville, NB, with Amery Sandford as our incredible and imaginative festival visual artist! We have so much fulfilling work ahead - connecting further with artists, volunteers, organizers, community members, supporters, and partners - and so much more to share with you in the coming weeks about old and new friends alike, across many mediums, all with important stories to tell. This is merely the start!
